There's something fishy going on here

You know what I found out the other day? The American military stationed in South Korea gets Monday off as a holiday because that is when the Super Bowl will air here. (A few English teachers here date guys in the American military.) I asked if they think we will get the day after the Oscars off, but I'm doubtful that will happen. Thank God for the internet!

My first week of teaching was a challenge. I will make a post about it soon, but I have more exciting things to tell you about!

I had a pretty awesome weekend. Yesterday, Jaclyn invited me to go to the aquarium with her. We took the train into Seoul for brunch at Wink (when in Korea) where I had a delicious mushroom omelette. We talked about how we ended up in Korea, teaching, and internet dating. She asked me about my worst online date - but I couldn't think of anything. It's funny how we can block certain things out of our minds.

We got back on the train and went to the COEX aquarium in the Gangnam district of Seoul. Highlights were seeing little jellyfish, sharks, giant turtles, and of course the penguins.

Jaclyn's favourite part of the aquarium was the manatees.

After the aquarium we had hot chocolate and beignets at a fancy restaurant nearby called The Tasting Room.

The ride to and from the aquarium was quite long - about an hour and a half. It's quite a long day when you factor that in. Jaclyn was nice enough to take me to Home Plus so I could get some more things for my apartment. Home Plus is like a giant Walmart. It is 3 floors of groceries, clothing, and household items. I really wanted a Swiffer! (It's funny the things you get excited about when you have almost nothing.)

Altogether it was a good, but long day. We were out for 11 hours! I had a good sleep last night.

This morning (Sunday) I woke up and started watching a new show on Netflix called The Santa Clara Diet staring Drew Barrymore. It's really funny! I highly recommend it. The rest of my day was spent going out for cheesecake, cleaning, and video chatting with friends back in Edmonton!

Lots of love!
